Jan Nekkers (Manager)
Jan Nekkers is the founder of Futureconsult. His works from the premise that while the future is unpredictable, we can relate to it meaningfully. It is important to develop a perception of the unexpected by keenly noticing contrary social developments. The future is not something that happens to us: it is something you can shape by thinking and acting with a purpose. Relationships of power, both in organisations and in society play an important role in this.
Jan studied political science at the Universities of Nijmegen and Amsterdam. He has held previous positions as researcher at the University of Leiden, staff executive at the Wiardi Beckman Foundation, policy advisor to the Dutch Labour Party, and organisation consultant. He is the author of numerous publications on a variety of subjects. In April 2007, Jan's practical handbook on scenario technology, "Wijzer In De Toekomst", was published.
